| Dear Mr./Mrs. Conservative, Why is it that you think that you are better than me? I don't mean to be blunt, but in no other way can I get a straight answer. Why is it that because you are heterosexual, you are more in love than myself and my significant other? Why is it that you are such better parents than us, that in some states it is actually illegal for me to adopt a child? What makes you so much better than me?
Sir/Mam, I don't believe you understand what I'm trying to say to you. In my last paragraph I used something called sarcasm. You are in no way any better or worse than me, but you see you try to make it look that way. You make it look like being a homosexual is like killing innocent children. What do we do that is so wrong? We love each other, we accept other people, we try to adopt children, and get them out of poverty stricken orphanages.
There is one state in the united states that have banned gay couples to marry. Florida, the state that got us stuck with President Bush in the first place passed a law which says that homosexuals cannot adopt. First you take away our marriage, the you take away our rights to be parents? Homosexual parents offer just as much love and attention to there children as heterosexual couples. Homosexuals actually value getting a child more, because it is IMPOSSIBLE for us to have any ourselves.
What is your reasoning Mr./Mrs. Conservative? What is your reasoning for treating us like we don't deserve to live? Can you answer me that? Is it the bible? Many conservatives believe homosexuality is immoral because in the bible it says that being homosexual is a sin. Where in the bible does it say sinners cannot have children? Can lawyers have children? Well of course they can, because lying isn't EVER mentioned in the bible is it? Sorry Sir/Mam that was another use of sarcasm.
Abortion, another view conservatives are VERY much trying to control is an extremely touching to many people. I myself have been faced with family members wanting to have abortions. Even though MY personal view is that to kill an unborn baby is immoral, it is still the woman's choice. The government should not impose on the choice of the woman. but instead should use money that there spending trying to fight this to make better prevention classes and seminars for pregnant teens on the OTHER options. THAT will lower the abortion rate dramatically.
Sir/Mam this letter was to bring to your attention that young soon to be voters do have an opinion, no matter what you believe. The intellectual and opiniated people of this generation will stand up and rise against your philosophy. Though there are conservatives in our generation, not as many as those in your's and the strong republicans of this generation are misinformed to believe that way. Sir/Mam you are keeping the United States unproductive and very slow moving. More progressive nations, like the United Kingdom, are soon going to start doubting our ways of dealing with social disruption. Jamie Casadine. *********************************************************************************** In 2003 31,484 people committed suicide, over 60 percent of that were people under the age of 25. thats eleven people out of ever 100,000. half of these suicides where done with firearms. Another fourth done by poisoning, and the remaining were suffocation. Suicide is a VERY large epidemic out society, from the poverty stricken streets of New York, to the upper class condos in California. What causes these feelings of depression, and the feeling of no self worth. Over the period of a week I will expand on some of the causes of depression, and why the government should intervene, not the pharmaceutical company.
Year after year more and more medications are compounded to treat depression and bipolar disorder, and every years more and more go off the shelf for causing suicidal tendencies and other serious side effects. Lithium, a drug used to treat bipolar disorder has many side effects some trivial and some deadly. The following excerpt is from the 2006 PDA book issued to pharmacists: "SIDE EFFECTS: The most common side effects that can occur in persons taking lithium are fine hand tremor, dry mouth, altered taste perception, weight gain, increased thirst, increased frequency of urination, mild nausea or vomiting, impotence, decreased libido, diarrhea, and kidney abnormalities. Many of the gastrointestinal side effects (nausea, taste alterations, diarrhea) often disappear with continued therapy. Additionally, they may be less common if lithium is taken in divided doses with meals. If diarrhea or excessive urination lead to dehydration, lithium toxicity is possible. Lithium can also cause changes in the electrocardiogram, low blood pressure, and decreased heart rate." These side effects are quite frightening to me, and these don't even name the many psychological effects it can have on you.
Psychological effects are even scarier than the physical ones. Suicidal thoughts are the main ones. That's right an ANTI-DEPRESENT causes suicidal thoughts, irony. Most anti-depresent medications cause suicidal thoughts. Most therapists agree that good psyhotherapy is about thirty times more effective then medication. Anti- depressants are over produced and overpriced, they are more harmfull the helpfull, and still ver dangerous. The pharmacutical company would like to belive that these medeication help, while actually they are numbing people mind instead of dealing with the problem. This speech is a lot shorter than my first one because this seems to be a lot easier for people to swallow. I don't need to be blunt, the statistics are.
